About
Blastomussa wellsi is a brightly coloured LPS coral forming distinct large-polyped colonies with round fleshy discs in vivid combinations of red, green, burgundy, and pink with contrasting oral discs. Tolerant of minor physical disturbances and a forgiving subject for fragging. Benefits from low to moderate flow and twice-weekly target feeding.
Care Guide
Position in low to moderate flow with low to moderate PAR (50–150). Polyps collapse in strong flow — gently redirect. Target feed with Reef Roids or mysis 2–3 times weekly for best growth. Stable Alk/Ca/Mg levels are key. Easy to frag — each polyp is relatively independent and can be separated. Beginner-friendly reef coral.
