Chilatherina bleheri
Origin: West Papua, Indonesia
Chilatherina bleheri, Bleher's Rainbowfish, is a spectacular and rarely kept species from a single small river system in West Papua. Males display intense reds on the flanks with an iridescent blue-green sheen. Named after aquarist explorer Heiko Bleher who first described it scientifically. Requires the same care as other New Guinea rainbowfish but slightly more sensitive. A true highlight of any serious rainbowfish collection.
School of 6+. Temperature 24–28 °C. Neutral to slightly alkaline water. Feed quality varied diet — spirulina flake, frozen bloodworm, colour-enhancing pellets. Good aeration and regular water changes critical. 150+ L.
