Neocaridina davidi var. 'Bloody Mary Rili'
Also known as: Bloody Mary Rili Shrimp
Origin: Selectively bred; base species from Taiwan and China
The Bloody Mary Rili Shrimp is a selectively bred Neocaridina variant that merges the deep wine-red coloration of the Bloody Mary line with the transparent midsection characteristic of Rili patterning. The result is a two-toned shrimp with rich wine-red head and tail sections flanking a clear, glassy midband — a combination that is both rare and visually striking. Retaining the robust hardiness of all Neocaridina, Bloody Mary Rilis adapt well to a broad range of water conditions and breed readily in planted aquariums. Their distinctive pattern and unusual color make them a standout addition to shrimp collections and multi-morph Neocaridina displays.
Water: pH 6.5–8.0, TDS 150–400 ppm, temperature 18–28°C; standard tap water acceptable. Tank: 20+ litres; planted with mosses and fine substrate; sponge filtration. Feeding: Biofilm, algae, shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables. Breeding: Prolific; select for clearest transparent midsection and deepest wine-red coloration. Compatibility: Peaceful; community-compatible; avoid mixing with other red Neocaridina morphs.
