Origin: South Asia (India, Myanmar)
Danio kerri (sometimes considered a subspecies of D. albolineatus) is native to the hill streams and rivers of India and Myanmar. Its body displays a vivid blue-violet iridescence with a faint golden-yellow mid-lateral stripe and red-orange fin highlights. A smaller species at around 4 cm, it is ideally suited to nano planted aquaria and pairs beautifully with other small peaceful cyprinids and micro tetras.
Water: 18–25°C, pH 6.5–7.5, soft to moderate (GH 5–15). Tank: 40 L minimum; nano planted setup; gentle to moderate current. Feeding: Omnivore; micro-pellets, small flake, frozen brine shrimp nauplii and daphnia. Behaviour: Peaceful active schooler; keep in groups of 8+. Compatibility: Ideal nano tank companion; pairs with micro rasboras, small corydoras, and other nano cyprinids.
