Caridina cantonensis var. 'Blue King Kong'
Also known as: Blue King Kong Shrimp, BKK Shrimp
Origin: Selectively bred; base species from Southern China
The Blue King Kong is one of the most coveted Taiwan Bee Caridina morphs, combining the full-body solid coloration philosophy of King Kong shrimp with the deep blue pigmentation of Blue Bolt parentage. The result is a shrimp expressing uniform, deep blue coloration across the entire body without any white banding — a technically challenging morph to achieve and maintain. Requiring strict soft, acidic, ultra-low TDS water with a dedicated active buffering substrate and RO base water, Blue King Kongs reward expert-level shrimp husbandry with a specimen of extraordinary visual impact. A centerpiece shrimp for serious Caridina collectors.
Water: pH 5.8–6.6, TDS 80–120 ppm, temperature 20–23°C; strict RO water with Caridina GH+ mineral and active substrate mandatory. Tank: 30–60 litres dedicated Caridina tank; dense moss, leaf litter; sponge filtration. Feeding: Premium shrimp pellets, biofilm, algae, Indian almond leaves. Breeding: Select deepest-blue, most uniform specimens as breeding stock. Compatibility: Species-only; no Neocaridina or fish whatsoever.
