Caridina poso
Origin: Lake Poso, Sulawesi
Caridina poso is a rare and beautiful Sulawesi endemic with striking blue legs contrasting against a warm orange-brown body, originating from the ancient Lake Poso. Requires warm alkaline hard water specific to its Sulawesi biotope. An impressive species for dedicated advanced keepers of rare Sulawesi invertebrates.
Maintain Sulawesi biotope conditions: pH 7.5–8.5, GH 8–15, temperature 27–30 °C using a heater. Use remineralised RO water with Sulawesi mineral salt. House only with other Sulawesi invertebrates (Caridina spinata, Tylomelania snails). Feed fine powdered algae and shrimp foods. Extremely sensitive to ammonia and temperature fluctuations.
