About

Clibanarius tricolor is a staple of marine clean-up crews, easily recognised by its vivid blue and red striped legs and compact size. It consumes hair algae, cyanobacteria, detritus, and film algae efficiently. Compatible with nearly all reef invertebrates and fish when provided with adequate empty shells.

Care Guide

Stock several crabs per 40 L as part of cleanup crew. Provide empty replacement shells in various sizes. Reef-safe with most invertebrates. May occasionally fight over shells — supply shells of slightly varying sizes. Acclimate via drip method. Avoid copper medications. Excellent sandbed aerator and algae controller.
