Plesiops coeruleolineatus
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Plesiops coeruleolineatus is a striking plesiopid fish with a dark body adorned with electric-blue longitudinal lines and vivid blue-edged fins. A cryptic cave dweller that poses no threat to corals but will consume very small fish and shrimp. Provide ample rockwork caves and keep with tankmates too large to be eaten.
Provide multiple deep rock caves and overhangs for shelter. Feed meaty marine foods: mysis, krill, silversides. Will eat small fish and ornamental shrimp — choose tankmates of adequate size (>5 cm). Feed in or near its cave to ensure it competes for food. Peaceful toward suitably sized fish. May be secretive initially.
