Poropanchax normani
Also known as: Blue Panchax, Norman's Lampeye
Origin: West Africa (Ghana, Ivory Coast)
Poropanchax normani is a beautiful lampeye from the coastal rivers of Ghana and Ivory Coast, featuring small but brilliantly iridescent scales that shimmer blue and gold under good lighting. It is a peaceful, active surface swimmer that does well in groups and makes a superb complement to bottom-dwelling West African cichlids.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.5, soft to medium hardness. Tank: Minimum 40L; floating plants to diffuse surface light and reduce jumping; secure lid. Feeding: Micro pellets, crushed flake, live or frozen baby brine shrimp, and cyclops. Behaviour: Peaceful surface dweller; males display to each other with fin spreading. Compatibility: Excellent with kribensis, small tetras, and other West African nano species.
