About
Hemiancistrus sp. L128, the Blue Phantom Pleco, is a visually breathtaking loricariid from fast-flowing sectors of the Rio Orinoco and Rio Meta in Colombia and Venezuela. Its dark blue body is covered in small white to pale blue spots. Unlike many ornamental plecos it is a more robust and fast-growing species that takes well to algae-based foods. Thrives in well-oxygenated setups with moderate flow and driftwood for shelter.

Temperature 24–28 °C, moderate-strong flow. Driftwood essential for comfort and feeding. Algae wafers, blanched vegetables, plus sinking pellets. Peaceful with most species. Grows to 24 cm so tank size 150 L+ for adults.
