Hyphessobrycon sp. 'Blue-red Colombia', an undescribed or recently described nano tetra from Colombian blackwater habitats, displays vivid electric-blue dorsal scaling contrasted by bold red coloration across the lower flanks and fins. It demands very soft, acidic blackwater conditions and is best suited to specialist biotope or blackwater nano aquariums where its extraordinary colour can be fully appreciated.

Feeding: Baby brine shrimp nauplii, micro-worms, micro-pellets and small frozen invertebrates. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling species; keep 8+; males may display to one another. Compatibility: Only with other blackwater nano species — pencilfish, nano rasboras, pygmy corydoras.
