About

The Blue Tang (Regal or Palette Surgeonfish) is one of the most iconic marine fish, beloved for its vivid royal blue body, bold black patterning, and bright yellow tail. Susceptible to ich and lateral line disease, it requires pristine water conditions and a varied diet. A spacious aquarium with excellent flow and regular algae supplementation keeps it thriving.

Care Guide

Requires minimum 350 L with very high flow. Feed nori, Gracilaria, spirulina, mysis, and marine pellets 2–3 times daily. Highly ich-susceptible — QT for 6+ weeks before introduction to display. Maintain SG 1.024–1.026 and pristine water. Sensitive to lateral line disease from poor nutrition or low flow. Keep alone or with other tangs in very large systems.
