Also known as: Blue Velvet Shrimp, Blue Neocaridina
Origin: Captive bred (Neocaridina davidi lineage)
Blue Velvet Shrimp are a colour morph of Neocaridina davidi bred for consistent, solid blue pigmentation across the entire body. Like all Neocaridina, they are highly adaptable and thrive in a wide range of water parameters, making them suitable for beginners and experienced keepers alike.
Water: 18–26°C, pH 6.5–7.5, GH 6–15, KH 2–8; tolerates most dechlorinated tap water. Tank: minimum 20 L, dark substrate intensifies colour; dense moss and plants. Feeding: biofilm, algae wafers, blanched vegetables, quality shrimp pellets. Behaviour: active grazers; peaceful; breeds readily in stable conditions. Compatibility: shrimp-safe tank mates; avoid any fish large enough to eat shrimp.
