About
Lybia tessellata is a tiny captivating crab that carries a small Triactis anemone in each claw, waving them as both defence and feeding tools in a behaviour likened to boxing. One of the most unique and sought-after marine invertebrates in the hobby. Delicate size means it must be target-fed carefully in a species-compatible tank.
Care Guide
Keep in a species-appropriate or peaceful nano reef setup. Target feed finely chopped meaty foods or phytoplankton near the crab after lights-out. Do not keep with fish or invertebrates that may harass it or steal its anemones. Acclimate via drip method. Extremely sensitive to water quality changes. Fascinating but fragile.
