Corydoras aeneus
Origin: South America (Trinidad, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil)
The Bronze Corydoras is one of the most commonly kept and hardiest cory species in the hobby, with a warm bronze-gold colouration and a greenish iridescent sheen on the upper body. An indispensable community tank bottom-dweller, it is peaceful, sociable, and extremely adaptable to a wide range of water conditions. Best kept in groups on fine sand substrate.
Provide fine sand substrate — gravel will damage their sensitive barbels. Keep in groups of 6+. Feed sinking wafers, frozen bloodworms, daphnia, and small meaty foods. Very hardy and tolerant of water parameters from 6.0–8.0 pH. Excellent choice for any peaceful community aquarium. Sensitive to high nitrates.
