Bryconella pallidifrons
Origin: Upper Orinoco and Negro River drainages, South America
Bryconella pallidifrons is a rarely seen, moderately sized characin from the upper Orinoco and Negro River drainages, notable for its pale, almost translucent body and delicate pastel tones under lighting. It inhabits fast-moving, well-oxygenated streams and requires excellent water quality and good current in captivity. An uncommon species for advanced hobbyists seeking unusual and interesting characins.
Requires very clean, well-oxygenated, slightly acidic water with moderate to strong flow. Keep in schools of 8+. Feed quality micro-pellets, frozen artemia, daphnia, small bloodworms. Sensitive to water quality deterioration. Not suitable for beginners — demands pristine conditions. Best in a dedicated biotope or advanced community setup.
