About

Microglanis iheringi, the Bumblebee Catfish, is a charming dwarf catfish from Colombia and Venezuela with vivid yellow-and-black banding resembling a bumblebee. Reaching only 6 cm, it is perfectly sized for community tanks from 60 L. Nocturnal and secretive during the day but emerges at feeding time. Peaceful with all fish too large to swallow; will eat small nano fish at night. A gentle bottom-level scavenger that accepts sinking foods readily.

Care Guide

Provide caves and hiding spots — logs, coconut hides, slate. Temperature 22–28 °C, soft to medium water. Feed sinking meaty pellets, frozen bloodworm, and sinking tablets after lights out. Peaceful with all appropriately-sized fish.
