Corydoras burgessi
Also known as: Burgess's Cory
Origin: South America
Corydoras burgessi is found in the Rio Trombetas drainage in Brazil and is notable for its sharp black-and-white pattern, including a prominent black stripe through the eye and a dark dorsal saddle. It prefers clean, soft, slightly acidic water. While not as commonly available as some cories, it is a rewarding species for the dedicated keeper.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness; prefers clean water with regular changes. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, gentle filtration, shaded areas with plants or wood. Feeding: Sinking wafers, frozen bloodworm, small live foods, and quality micro pellets. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; confidence improves in groups of 6+. Compatibility: Excellent community fish with similarly sized peaceful species.
