Corydoras burgessi
Origin: Brazil (Rio Aripuanã)
Corydoras burgessi is a striking species from the Rio Aripuanã in Brazil, distinguished by a bold black stripe running from the snout through the eye to the caudal peduncle against a silver-white body. Relatively small and peaceful, it is compatible with a wide range of community tank inhabitants. Like most cories, it appreciates fine sandy substrate and prefers being kept in groups of six or more.
Provide fine sand substrate. Keep in groups of 6+. Feed sinking wafers, frozen bloodworms, and varied meaty foods. Maintain soft to moderately hard water with good filtration. Sensitive to high nitrates and ammonia. A less common species than C. aeneus or paleatus — seek out reputable sources for healthy specimens.
