Syncrossus beauforti
Origin: Thailand, Myanmar
Syncrossus beauforti, the Burmese Zebra Loach, is a boldly striped loach from rivers of Thailand and Myanmar, featuring vivid dark vertical bars over an orange-yellow background. A lively and somewhat boisterous species that thrives in groups of five or more, establishing a clear social hierarchy. A roomy, well-filtered aquarium with rocks and driftwood provides the necessary cover for this active species.
Keep in groups of 5+. Provide rocks, caves, and driftwood for territory and hiding. Feed quality sinking pellets, frozen invertebrates, earthworms — will also consume pest snails. Needs good filtration and moderate current. Can be nippy toward slow-moving long-finned fish. Grows to 20cm — needs a spacious setup.
