The Candy Basslet is one of the most colourful and desirable small marine fish in the world, featuring alternating stripes of red-orange, yellow, and purple with exquisite detail. This small Caribbean deepwater species is rarely collected and commands a premium price. A secretive cave dweller that rarely ventures far from rocky overhangs.
Care Guide
Provide ample caves and overhangs. Feed mysis and small meaty marine foods 2 times daily near its cave entrance. Peaceful; compatible with most reef fish but may be outcompeted for food by faster species — target feed if needed. Keep one per system. Hardy once established despite its rarity and price. Reef-safe with corals.
