About
Aphyosemion australe, the Cape Lopez Lyretail, is one of the most beautiful and popular killifish. The male displays rich orange-red with vivid blue-green iridescent spots and a lyretail fin extension. Originating from coastal Gabon and Cameroon, it is a non-annual killifish that does not require egg drying — it spawns on fine-leaved plants or mops and fry hatch in 14–21 days. Hardy for a killifish and suitable for peaceful nano community tanks. Sold as a sexed pair.

Soft, slightly acidic water (pH 6.0–7.0), temperature 18–22 °C (prefers cool). Planted tank or species setup. Feed varied small live and frozen foods: daphnia, baby brine shrimp, micro-pellets. Males may spar — keep in pairs or trios. 40+ L.
