Caridina dennerli

Caridina dennerli, the Cardinal Sulawesi Shrimp, originates from the ancient warm lakes of Sulawesi (Celebes) island, Indonesia. Its brilliant red body is dotted with white spots, giving it a polka-dot appearance of extraordinary beauty. Found only in Lakes Towuti and Matano at temperatures exceeding 28 °C, it requires warm, very hard, alkaline water — the precise opposite of Caridina Crystal Reds. Completely protected in the wild; all specimens available are captive-bred. A specialist shrimp for dedicated keepers.
Temperature 28–30 °C. Hard, alkaline water: pH 7.8–8.5, GH 8–15, KH 4–8. SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 recommended for RO water. Heavily planted or mossed tank. Feed Shrimp King Sulawesi White and bacterial supplements. No flucutations — extreme stability required.
