Condylactis gigantea
Origin: Caribbean, Tropical Atlantic
Condylactis gigantea is one of the largest Caribbean anemones, sporting long tapering tentacles tipped in vivid purple, pink, or green that can span up to 30 cm across. Unlike Indo-Pacific anemones, it does not naturally host clownfish, though tentative associations may occur in captivity. It requires a well-established aquarium with high-output lighting, good flow, and stable parameters. It will wander if conditions are unsuitable.
Provide high-intensity lighting (LED or T5 HO) and moderate to strong water flow. Supplement with small meaty foods 2-3 times weekly. Allow ample open space for tentacle expansion. Secure all pump intakes as anemones will move freely throughout the tank.
