Caridina cantonensis 'Red Pinto'

The Red Pinto is a premium Caridina cantonensis morph featuring a vivid red body overlaid with white mosaic or fishbone-style spotting across the carapace and abdomen. Developed through years of selective breeding in Taiwan and Germany, Red Pintos are among the most valuable freshwater shrimp available. Extremely soft, acidic water with very low TDS is essential to maintain health and encourage breeding.

Maintain RO water with Caridina mineraliser at TDS 80–120 ppm. pH 5.8–6.8, temperature 20–24°C, GH 3–6, KH 0–2. A heavily planted, mature nano tank with abundant biofilm produces the best results. Do not mix with neocaridina shrimp to prevent hybridisation. Avoid any copper-based treatments.
