Caridina cantonensis sp. 'Red Wine'
Origin: Captive bred — Taiwan
Red Wine Shrimp (Caridina cantonensis sp. 'Red Wine') are a Taiwan Bee variety with a deep, uniform wine-red colouration. Like all Caridina, they require soft, acidic, soil-buffered water. More demanding than Neocaridina but produce striking biotope nano tanks when thriving.
Requires active substrate (ADA Amazonia, Fluval Stratum) to buffer pH to 6.0–6.8 and GH to 4–6. Very sensitive to ammonia, nitrite, and copper. Do NOT mix with Neocaridina — they hybridise. Feed Caridina-specific shrimp foods, blanched vegetables, and biofilm. Intermediate level care.
