Caridina cantonensis
Origin: Captive-bred (Taiwan)
The Taitibee is a backcross hybrid of Tibee and Taiwan Bee shrimp, combining the complex patterning possibilities of both lineages into one highly variable and collectible shrimp. Taitibees can express a range of patterns including fishbone, pinto-like spotting, and solid bands, making selective breeding with them a fascinating pursuit. They require pristine, soft, acidic water to thrive.
Keep in dedicated soft-water shrimp tanks with RO water remineralised to TDS 100–150 ppm. Maintain pH 5.8–6.8, temperature 20–24°C, GH 3–6, KH 0–2. Provide heavy planting with moss and java fern to support natural biofilm growth. Avoid rapid parameter changes and all copper-containing products.
