Caridina cf. babaulti
Origin: India
Caridina cf. babaulti 'Striped' is the patterned form of the Indian dwarf shrimp, featuring a prominent dorsal stripe running the full body length on a pale or yellowish background. It is a lively and active biofilm grazer that does well across a range of freshwater conditions, making it more forgiving than the sensitive Taiwan Bee complex. Its attractive striping adds visual interest to planted shrimp tanks.
Maintain pH 6.5–7.5, temperature 22–28°C, GH 4–10, KH 1–4. Adaptable to moderately hard water, unlike most Caridina species. Feed with spirulina wafers, blanched vegetables, and high-quality shrimp powder foods. Provide ample surface cover such as java moss and floating plants for natural foraging.
