Caridina serratirostris
Origin: Southeast Asia
Caridina serratirostris is a small, attractively patterned shrimp from Southeast Asia featuring a saw-toothed rostrum and subtle striped or spotted body coloration. It is an active and social species that does well in small groups in planted aquariums. Its modest care requirements make it accessible to intermediate shrimp keepers eager to explore lesser-known Caridina species.
Maintain pH 6.5–7.5, temperature 22–27°C, GH 4–10, KH 1–4. Provide a planted aquarium with rich biofilm and plenty of grazing surfaces. Feed with algae wafers, spirulina-based foods, and quality shrimp pellets. Keep in groups of 6 or more for best activity and natural behaviour.
