Caridina simoni
Origin: Southeast Asia
Caridina simoni is a small, lively freshwater shrimp with a subtle mottled brownish-green pattern that provides effective camouflage against planted aquarium substrate and moss. It is an active grazer of algae and biofilm that adapts well to a range of soft to moderately hard water conditions. Well suited to nano tanks and shrimp-focused planted setups.
Maintain pH 6.5–7.2, temperature 22–27°C, GH 3–8, KH 0–3. Provide a planted aquarium with dense moss, java fern, and leaf litter. Feed with quality algae wafers, spirulina powder, and blanched vegetables. Compatible with other peaceful nano species. Avoid fish that would prey on small shrimp.
