Paracheilinus carpenteri
Origin: Philippines, Indonesia
Paracheilinus carpenteri, Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse, is a stunning reef fish from the Philippines and Indonesia. Males have a vivid red-orange body with blue highlights and yellow finnage. When 'flashing' — a rapid colour-intensifying display performed to females — they are almost impossibly beautiful. A peaceful, completely reef-safe species that spends time in open water. Best kept as a male-female pair or one male with multiple females. Eats small zooplankton and meaty frozen foods.
Harem of 1 male + females preferred. Reef safe with all invertebrates. Lid essential — active jumper. Feed frozen mysis, baby brine shrimp. Standard reef parameters. Provide open swimming space and some rock caves to retreat.
