Cave Basslet (Wrasse Basslet)

Liopropoma mowbrayi is a slender, jewel-like basslet displaying vivid red, orange, and white horizontal stripes running the full length of its streamlined body. Native to deeper Caribbean and Bermudan reef zones, it adapts well to reef aquariums provided adequate rockwork caves are available. It is completely reef-safe with corals and sessile invertebrates.

Provide extensive rockwork with caves, overhangs, and crevices for this secretive species. Feed meaty foods including mysis, chopped seafood, and frozen marine mix daily. Larger, aggressive tank mates should be avoided. Ensure tight-fitting lid as basslets can jump from open-top tanks.
