Amphiprion chagosensis
Origin: Chagos Archipelago, British Indian Ocean Territory
Amphiprion chagosensis is a rare Indian Ocean clownfish endemic to the Chagos Archipelago. It features a warm orange body with two white bars and is closely related to A. chrysopterus but differs in coloration and geographic isolation. Its extreme rarity in the trade makes it a trophy acquisition for advanced reef collectors.
Care requirements mirror other large Amphiprion species. Provide a species-suitable host anemone such as Heteractis crispa or Stichodactyla mertensii. Feed a varied diet of mysis, brine shrimp, and marine pellets twice daily. Water quality must be maintained at the highest level given the species' rarity and value.
