Gastromyzon punctulatus
Origin: Borneo
Gastromyzon punctulatus is a Borneo hillstream loach with a bold black and white dotted pattern across its modified, wing-like pectoral fins. Like all Gastromyzon species it requires extremely high water flow and oxygenation, mimicking the Borneo highland stream biotope. It grazes on biofilm and algae across smooth rock surfaces. A group of 6+ in a dedicated hillstream biotope creates a fascinating natural display.
VERY HIGH flow required. pH 6.5–7.8. Oxygenated, clean water. 100+ L. Smooth rocks with biofilm. Cooler temperatures (20–25°C). Groups of 6+.
