Belonoperca chabanaudi
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Cheeklined Basslet is a rare and striking deep-water species from the Indo-Pacific, displaying a deep greenish body accented with horizontal yellow lines across the cheeks and face. Collected at depth and infrequently available in the trade, it is highly sought after by serious collectors. It adapts well to a well-established reef tank with ample live rock structure and a reliable supply of small meaty foods.
Provide generous rockwork with caves and overhangs. Feed small meaty foods including mysis, copepods, and frozen marine mix once or twice daily. Best kept with peaceful tank mates in a well-matured reef system. Sensitive to poor water quality; maintain pristine conditions.
