Brevibora cheeya
Also known as: Cheeya Rasbora
Origin: Southeast Asia
Brevibora cheeya is a recently described, closely related species within the Eye-spot Rasbora group, distinguished from B. dorsiocellata by subtle morphometric and colouration differences. Like its relatives, it inhabits slow-moving, shaded streams and forest pools in Southeast Asia and prefers soft, slightly acidic water conditions. Its relative novelty in the hobby makes it of interest to collectors tracking the full diversity of the Brevibora genus.
Water: 23–28 °C, pH 5.5–7.0, soft water preferred (GH 2–10). Tank: 30 L minimum; well-planted, leaf litter optional, gentle filtration. Feeding: Omnivore — micro pellets, fine flake, baby brine shrimp, Daphnia. Behaviour: Peaceful schooler; keep 8+ for natural group dynamics. Compatibility: Suitable with other small, peaceful nano fish; not for boisterous community setups.
