Origin: Northern Australia, New Guinea
Cherax quadricarinatus, the Australian Redclaw Crayfish, is a large, impressive freshwater crayfish with a distinctive red patch on the base of the male's claws. Hardy and fast-growing. Species-only tank or robust cichlid setup recommended.
Temperature 20–26°C, pH 7.0–8.0. Large tank 100 L+ with caves and hiding spots. Aggressive — will kill fish and other invertebrates. Feed pellets, vegetables. Durable and long-lived.
