Amphiprion chrysopterus
Origin: Pacific Ocean, Micronesia to Samoa
Amphiprion chrysopterus, the Orange-Fin Clownfish, is a larger, robustly built Pacific species with a dark brownish-orange body and striking orange-yellow fins. Three white bars adorn the body, the middle one notably wide. It naturally associates with Heteractis crispa and Stichodactyla mertensii anemones, and is a hardy, long-lived reef resident.
Provide a large host anemone for best behaviour and display. Feed a varied omnivore diet of mysis, brine shrimp, and quality marine pellets twice daily. Keep as a mated pair; males are smaller and subordinate to females. Best in a well-established reef system with ample open space.
