Aphyosemion citrineipinnis
Origin: Gabon, West Africa
Aphyosemion citrineipinnis is a rarely seen and highly sought-after killifish from Gabon, distinguished by males' brilliant yellow-orange fins contrasting with intricate red-spotted blue-green body coloration. A non-annual killifish that rewards patient keepers with spectacular displays. Best maintained in soft, acidic, shaded aquariums away from bright lighting.
Maintain in soft, acidic water with peat or Indian almond leaf tannins. Use subdued lighting — bright light washes out colour. Feed live and frozen meaty micro-foods: daphnia, artemia, micro worms. Keep 1 male to 2+ females. Non-annual so no diapause required. Provide a tight-fitting lid — killifish jump.
