Amphiprion clarkii
Origin: Indo-Pacific, Persian Gulf to Western Pacific
Clark's Clownfish (Amphiprion clarkii) is one of the most widely distributed clownfish in the world, found from the Persian Gulf to the Western Pacific. Its striking two-toned body — ranging from yellow-orange to near-black depending on locality — and bold white bars make it immediately eye-catching. Exceptionally hardy and adaptable, it will readily accept a wide range of host anemone species in captivity.
An excellent beginner clownfish that tolerates a range of water conditions better than many other Amphiprion. Feed a varied omnivore diet twice daily. Keep as a mated pair with a suitable host anemone such as Heteractis crispa, Stichodactyla mertensii, or similar. May become more territorial when guarding eggs.
