Clithon corona
Origin: Southeast Asia
Clithon corona is a small, distinctive nerite snail adorned with characteristic horn-like spines projecting from its shell, giving it a dramatic and unusual appearance unlike any other freshwater snail. Like all nerites, it is an exceptional algae grazer and will not reproduce in freshwater, making it ideal for controlled aquarium populations. It thrives in slightly brackish to freshwater conditions and is well suited for planted tanks.
Provide a planted aquarium with ample hard surfaces for algae grazing. Requires calcium supplementation in soft water for healthy shell and spine development. Will not breed in freshwater. Compatible with all peaceful fish, shrimp, and other snails. Ensure calcium and pH are maintained at adequate levels (pH 7.0–8.0) for shell integrity.
