Coris aygula
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Clown Coris Wrasse is a large and impressive Indo-Pacific species whose juveniles display white coloration with orange spots, strikingly reminiscent of a clownfish. Adults develop into robust, powerful fish with a prominent forehead hump and striking blue-green and orange markings. Due to its eventual very large size (up to 120 cm), it is suitable only for very spacious systems and will consume most invertebrates.
Best suited to very large FOWLR systems of 600 L or more. Will eat shrimp, crabs, small fish, and most invertebrates. Provide a deep sand bed of at least 10 cm for sleeping, as Coris wrasses bury themselves at night. Feed large meaty foods including krill, clams, and marine pellets daily. Not suitable for reef aquariums.
