Epiplatys annulatus

Origin: Guinea, Sierra Leone, Nigeria
Epiplatys annulatus is found in coastal West Africa in slow-moving forest streams and pools with dense surface vegetation. Males display brilliant lyre-shaped tails banded in blue, red, and orange. It is peaceful, easy to breed, and stays close to the surface, making it an ideal companion for bottom- and midwater nano species.
Water: 20–26 °C, pH 4.5–7.0, soft (GH 1–10); tolerates wide range once acclimated. Tank: 20 L minimum; abundant floating plants for surface cover; tight-fitting lid. Feeding: Floating micro pellets, fruit flies, mosquito larvae, baby brine shrimp. Behaviour: Peaceful; males display to each other under plants; keep in pairs or small groups. Compatibility: Compatible with all peaceful bottom-level nano fish and nano shrimp.
