About
A coldwater-tolerant strain of Ancistrus sp. (Bristlenose Pleco) selected for resilience in outdoor pond conditions in temperate climates. These algae-grazing catfish are ideal for controlling green algae growth on pond walls and ornaments during warmer months. Best overwintered indoors below 8°C; suitable for pond use from spring through autumn in the Benelux region.
Care Guide
Deploy in ponds from late spring when water warms above 12°C. Remove and overwinter indoors in a heated aquarium before water drops below 8°C. Feed supplemental algae wafers and blanched vegetables when pond algae is scarce. Provide caves or pipe shelters for refuge. Cannot survive freezing temperatures.
