Sturisomatichthys tamanae, the Colombian Whiptail Pleco, is an elegant loricariid from the Tama River drainage in Colombia, possessing an extremely elongated body and tail filament that makes it visually stunning in a well-planted aquarium. A peaceful and shy algae grazer; supplemental feedings with blanched vegetables and algae wafers are essential. Prefers broad-leaved plants and smooth driftwood for resting and rasping.
Provide broad-leaved plants (anubias, amazon sword) and smooth driftwood for rasping. Feed algae wafers and blanched vegetables as primary diet.
