Cladiella sp.
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Cladiella sp. (Colt Coral) produces thick, irregular rubbery branches densely covered in tiny polyps that give the colony a fuzzy, textured appearance when fully extended. Exceptionally undemanding, it grows steadily under low to moderate light and tolerates fluctuations in water chemistry that would stress more sensitive corals. Colt Coral readily propagates through fragging and is a popular starter coral for sharing with other hobbyists.
Place in low to moderate flow with low to medium lighting. No special calcium or alkalinity supplementation required beyond standard reef maintenance. May temporarily recede when first introduced or after a water change — this is normal. Frag by cutting branches with sharp scissors; branches root quickly on rock or plug.
