Apistogramma commbrae
Origin: Argentina (Corrientes province), Paraguay
Apistogramma commbrae is a small, understated species from Corrientes province in Argentina and adjacent Paraguay, prized by species purists for its subtle but intricate pattern of lateral spots and speckled fins. It tolerates cooler temperatures than most Apistogramma species and can be kept in unheated aquariums in warm climates. A peaceful companion in a well-planted community tank.
One of the most cool-water tolerant Apistogramma — suitable for unheated tanks at room temperature. Keep 1 male with 2+ females in a planted tank with caves. Feed small live and frozen foods: artemia, micro worms, small bloodworms. Soft to moderately hard water acceptable. A gentle and peaceful dwarf cichlid.
