Corydoras CW049 is an undescribed species awaiting formal scientific description, collected from Peruvian Amazon tributaries. It bears a notable pattern of dark spots and a subtle body shape that distinguishes it from described congeners. Like most Corydoras, it is a peaceful schooling species well-suited to community aquariums with soft, slightly acidic water.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, moderate flow, planted with open sandy foraging areas. Feeding: Sinking wafers, pellets, frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; groups of 6+ recommended. Compatibility: Excellent community fish with similarly sized, peaceful species.
