Caridina cf. cantonensis
Also known as: Crystal Red Shrimp, CRS SSS Grade
Origin: Captive bred (Japan lineage)
Crystal Red Shrimp SSS Grade represent the highest standard in Crystal Red grading, where near-complete white coverage with just a trace of red produces a strikingly clean, porcelain-like appearance. These specimens are sourced from top Japanese and Taiwanese breeding lines with documented SSS-grade parentage. Water stability is paramount — even minor fluctuations in pH or TDS can stress high-grade specimens and inhibit breeding.
Water: 20–24°C, pH 5.8–6.8, TDS 100–150, GH 4–6, KH 0–2; active substrate mandatory. Tank: minimum 20 L, buffering substrate, Java moss, leaf litter for biofilm. Feeding: high-quality powdered shrimp food, biofilm, occasional spirulina wafer. Behaviour: peaceful grazers; best kept as species-only colony of 15+. Compatibility: shrimp-only or with non-predatory snails; no fish.
