Epiplatys dageti, the Red-Chinned Panchax, is a sleek surface-dwelling killifish from West Africa with males displaying a distinctive bright red chin and attractive spotted body patterning. It actively patrols the water surface, making it an excellent predator of surface insects and mosquito larvae. A hardy species that adapts well to a range of water conditions.
Keep in a planted tank with floating cover. Males territorial — keep 1 male per small tank or provide ample space. Feed live and frozen micro-foods: daphnia, artemia, small insects, bloodworms. Tight-fitting lid essential — excellent jumpers. Tolerates a range of water conditions. Can be kept in small heated or unheated tanks at room temperature.
